“Ex-Rental vehicles should be avoided”

90% of all Van & Truck World vehicles have been hired to business users and covered on the hirers own insurance policy, so it is in their interest to respect the vehicles and drive carefully.

Read through the many motoring columns in various papers and magazines and you will hear the same comments ‘The variety of driving styles, which hire vehicles are subject to, are preferable to those of many private owners’.


“Hire vehicles are never serviced”

Not true, all Van & Truck World vehicles are serviced in accordance with the warranty requirements of the specific manufacturers.

The servicing may not have been carried out at a main dealer; however genuine manufacturers recommended parts will have been used so as not to invalidate any remaining warranty.


“No stamps in the service book”

True! Many service books may not have been stamped, however if we sell a vehicle on the premise that it has a full service history we will be able to provide adequate receipts for servicing as proof.

Why is the service book not signed? Simply because when left in the hire vehicles they have a tendency to ‘wander’ and with hire customers spread across the whole of the UK it is simply not practical to have them all stamped. This will not affect your warranty; if unsure speak to a member of Van & Truck World staff.


“Diesel engines are noisy, unrefined & slow”

Diesel engines are tough, powerful, reliable and economical; you would be wise to consider a diesel car for your next purchase.

The technological advances made in diesel engine production over the last 10 years has been huge, for the 1st time ever 2005 saw more new diesel cars registered in the UK than petrol cars.

Massive fuel economy, smooth power delivery and huge levels of torque for high speed manoeuvres are just some of the benefits.

Many diesel cars are now actually quieter, in the cabin, than their petrol counterparts.


“Ex rental vehicles have high mileage”

We have a huge selection of vehicles of various mileages. Mileage, as you would expect, is usually directly linked with the price of a vehicle. As you would expect a 1year old car with 10,000miles on the clock is likely to retail for a higher price than the same vehicle with 25,000miles showing.

With such a huge selection of vehicles available, mileages vary considerably but don’t be put of by higher mileage vehicles, there are bargains to be had. Rugged reliable diesel engines and comprehensive manufacturer warranties ensure that you are taking little added risk by purchasing a higher mileage vehicle.
